Default airdog prime

I have an airdog 100 under my truck, it keeps loosing prime. This started a year ago and only when my truck was at a half tank or less when I shut off the truck. I was driving 100 miles a day and no after I have finished that driving in November it has gotten progressively worse. Now after sitting overnight or 8hrs (at work) shortest time I have observed, the truck wont start. I have to turn on the pump then I loosen the fuel filter a hair, until fuel bubbles out of the top and tighten it back up. The fuel pump makes a different pitch hum, then it will fire right up. This has gotten to be a headache to say the least....... I have thought to put a sump on the tank. Would this help?? or where do I start??

That's what I'm wondering, could be the supply to the pump from the tank?

That's what i have been wondering.. I haven't been able to crawl under and play detective because of the weather and lack of garage. I have to put new tank straps and will examine the lines. What are your thoughts on the fuel tank sump? Would gravity help keep the prime?

Yea this weather blows, I haven't looked too much into the sumps, I know some people like them. I have an air dog 2 165 so far I haven't had a prime issue. The thing that scares me about sumps is getting it knocked off.

I may look at upgrading then.. I thought about that but, the airdog i think would be hit.. and the skid plate hangs lower than it would I believe. My worries are along the line of sediment in the tank with crap fuel

Yea that's a good point, I just recently started working for a company that maintains fuel trailer for a fleet, and I've seen what lies on the bottom of those tanks not pretty.
