P7100 mods for work truck help
I have 4k gsk, running no plate, and star wheel turned up. just wandering if there was anything thing I should have done performance wise to my injector pump why they had it out to rebuild it. My plan for my truck is to boost hp but still have a truck I can tow with. In my plans still, lift pump, injectors, exhaust manifold, and Single Turbo.
in this situation, who gives a flying F about a max flowed pump? if your not pushing the limits why push your luck? you want your system to complement itself. 90% of people dont need half the fuel a 12mm plungered pump can put out. your truck made 160hp on something like 140cc's of fuel. do you really think you need 500cc's to only get you to 400hp? a rack plug is for WOT benefits as it only effects rack travel @ full throttle. up top some times a rack plug throws CC's out of wack. put a #6 fuel plate in it tune it well. (hints the plate) get a good electric lift pump and ditch the stocker, put a small 62/65/14ish charger on it, stock 215hp-5x12 injectors and you will have a low to mid 400hp truck that doesnt smoke and pulls like a train.
You will better off with a plate as suggested.
If Bosch didn't think the plate was needed, they wouldn't have designed it into the fuel curve.
If you understand how the plate enhances the fuel curve you would take it out.
now, tune the AFC.

I completely agree at a minimum you need to have a 100plate ... Its hard on the components to be bouncing off the inside of the AFC housing and can cause damage from what was explained to me from a few people .... And there is not much benefit from no plate to a 100 plate .. Just smoke and higher egt's
I have no plate, very little smoke and relatively low EGTs. There's more to tuning a pump than getting the most fuel possible out of it, and more to tailoring the delivery of said fuel than picking out a plate. If it sounds like I'm being argumentative here, the point I'm actually getting to is that I agree: a rack plug is the last thing the TC needs to be thinking about for this application.

Oh. And. I wouldn't have that starwheel cranked with no plate either, now you're just pissing away fuel for nothing.
