if its a just for fun truck go with the special as a single if you tow consider twins. i have always like simplicity. if you are shooting for a truck that tows and also lays down over 600hp then twins is about the only way. i like my singles.

I run a super b special on my truck and I love it, it sounds awesome, I tow a 30 ft tandem axle gooseneck with it. it spools fine, just took a little pump tuning to get it right, its not as laggy as people have said, in my opinion and I got the kit with a downpipe for cheap. brand new.

HX35/40 over S471. The turbo was free to me, and the entire set up cost $700 the first time I did it. Since then I have been tweaking things and adding cost. Still, even if I had to pay $1000 for a S471, my cost for Compounds would be $1700. Much less than any kit on the market.

Alot of it depends on what your looking to do with the truck and horsepower. I have been running singles for over 3 years and I am finally thinking of stepping up to compounds on the truck now. I tow alot of weight with my silver 64 now but im thinking compounds will be more enjoyable.

Very true. The more homework you do, and the more labor you do, the less it costs. Only thing I haven't done to my truck was build the trans. Only reason I paid for it to be done, local warranty.
