Default Battery drains over night.

Ok so my truck started and ran fine Saturday. Went to start it Tuesday afternoon and my gauges and dash lights all flickered real quick, then seemed to settle. Battery guauge was way low, just barely clearing the lowest mark. With the key in just the on position i get the chime, and i can hear a rapid faint clicking. When I go to turn it over there is a loud series of clicks that I am assuming to be the solenoid for the starter. I have a MultiMeter and was able to take voltage readings on both batteries, the passenger side was 10.4 and the driver side was 11.6. I hooked my smart charger up to passenger battery and let it charge, due to the amount of time it takes and needing to use the truck I had it jumpstarted. Started just fine and ran great, my battery dash gauge came back up wthin the norm operating, and I had no further problems that day. When I parked for the night I made sure lights were all off, doors were all closed, and any other possible culprits were powered down. Went out to start it the next morning it was dead again. Hoping for some ideas to look into.

load test the batteries see if ones bad or both! Then take it to a good electrical shop for a drain test. That much loss should show up right away! But I bet it's a battery!

Thanks, I ended up going over to Auto Zone after I had it jumped again and their equip pointed to one of the batteries going bad. Gonna get them replaced in the net few days and see if it makes a diff. If prob is still there with new batteries I'll have the drain test ran.

It does sound like a battery is going bad (porbably a bad cell). If this occures, then the other battery will attempt to assist the bad battery. This will overwork the good battry and making it as bad as the other one. My suggestion would be to change both batteries at the same time. Also, look for the date of manufature, you wont want a didderence of more than a month.
