I have a 2004 Dodge 3500 SRW cummins, it never showed any signs or symptoms of the transmission going bad then yesterday all of the sudden it went out. It will not shift from 1st to 2nd unless I slowly creep up to 19 mph and about 2200 rpms. Then it just stays in 2nd gear and never shifts. If you romp on the pedal in 1st gear it is like i'm in neutral the truck will just red line but still only be going about 15 mph! Please Help me out here guys! I've posted everywhere and tried looking everywhere. I need to know this is my daily driver and what I use for work everyday!

 

I had a similar problem a few weeks after I bought mine and boy did it break my heart but luckily mine worked itself out after crawling back home in second. Yours may not be as simple but mine seemed to be an electrical hiccup. Any dtc's?

 

Drop the pan and take a look! What's in the pan?! Check your front band adjustment I think you spit the band lever strut out!

 

all i can say is start saving money, could be torque converter. but most likely your valve body is shot and wont move fluid to solenoids to engage first gear. take it somewhere and get it checked out brother.
