I put a smarty programmer on my 06 and on higher levels it seems to make the engine sound noisy like too much timing. Is this normal with the smarty?

 

Are you on an odd or even number? You could have timing rattle. If you are running an odd number.

With odd numbers are the catcher program with added timing. It will make some more noise.

 

Will it damage the motor?

 

No you will be fine. Just dont run the odd numbers if you decide to stack it with a power box such as a Edge Juice or Quadzilla.

 

This was a problem with some of these trucks (s-06a) and the smarty, Seemed to be on about every truck, You can upgrade to the newer software which will solve the problem, but you'll loose some smoke and bottom end power! Yes, It can cause problems, but not if the only thing on the truck is a smarty and your not towing heavy!

 

Running #9, no timing rattle. Before I fixed the shorted wire, rattled like a son-of-a gun.

 

What wire did you have shorted wildbill

 

I downloaded the after market injectors program per Bob Wagnor to eliminate the timming rattle I had. Worked like a charm!
