Clutch Help
I'm going to be looking for a new clutch for the 06 in the next 6-8months and was wondering what your guys thoughts were? I had the South Bend Con OFE in my 02 and it was awesome! Peter over @ South Bend was great! My goal is 550hp. I use the truck mainly for towing and I want something nice and smooth that will hold the power! Thanks guys!

This is what I have learned. You can go with a double disc that will hold alot of hp and will hold up if you sled pull but this clutch set up requires a $ 250 hydrolic kit But the con ofe single disk is good for 450 hp and more i am told but if ya slip it, it wont weld togeter. The con fe is a diff meterial then the ofe and if you slip that clutch bad it may weld it self together and you wont be able to push your clutch in. I am plaining to go with the con ofe and i will probley be in the 480 500 hp range also. and these to single dick clutches will have the same fell as the stock clutch.
This is just my 2 cents. all these are south bend

I have the CON FE right now but will be going to a DD this Spring. I'm slipping the FE now and I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before something bad happens. A lot of guys are going with the 3200 DD street version. It is being talked up quite a bit. I would call SB and talk to them over there. They can recommend something for you that makes sense based on your goals. My goals changed midstream so it will cost me more money but that's the way I usually operate. Buy high and sell low and try to make it up in volume.

Well, the last time I dyno'd I had 607 HP and 1189 TQ. Now, I have a new IC and I replaced the HTB2 with the HTT 62/71/13 ss and added a Diablosport programmer along with the straight through Donaldson instead of the baffled Donaldson. I haven't dyno'd this combo yet but it is enough to slip the clutch now.
