Default 2003 Cummins Code Difference

bought a 2003 Dodge Cummins with a siezed Engine..... no oil and mechanic says its seized.... i think it will be easier on me to just replace the engine

i know there are 2 different types of cummins in that year, one is a C code and the other is a 6 code

well i have the chance buy a C code for a very good deal with warranty, BUT my engine is a 6 code.

what exactly are the differences in the two engines? will the C work in a 6 code truck with out too many modifications?

Also anyone have a 03 / 6 code Cummins engine for sale? i will worrie about the shipping

All I can find is C referring to the 8.3 which obviously won't work.

-Vin #6 is the SO engine, should be around the 250hp
-Vin #C is the HO engine (High Output) 305hp engine

would a 6 code work in a C equipped truck? or will the computer be different?

The ECM is different I believe. I don't see why you couldn't have it flashed???
