Overdrive problems.

Hey guys my cousin's 48re is giving him some troubles. When it is cold it shifts fine but once it gets up to temp it falls out of overdrive and stays in third. Dose any one have any idea of what could be going on.

Gov pressure transdcuer and solenoid as a start. Pressure test next to determine health of the trans.

Thank you my cousin has done both those and still nothing. He took my new gov pressure set up i just got from sun coast and that didnt help. he says his pressure is good as well.

What year of truck?

Output speed sensore would be my next choice to swap out. If that didn't work its probably time to look at the OD clutches for problems..

Ok ill let him know. I belive he just went through the whole tranny and replaced all the clutches and steels.

I am having the same problem. Mine also hesitates to go into overdrive when it's hot. Tranny was rebuilt 3 months ago. Did you figure anything out with yours. Mine's at the shop right now and they're stumped
