Default Geno's Garage Muffler Elimination Pipe

Anyone have one? I was looking at getting one, but in the description it says that it does not replace the resonator...Whats the Difference between the Muffler and the Resonator? I just want to make sure it will work on my '04.

I had one on the 2006 before I went to the 5" the Resonator is the same thing as a Catalytic converter on a gas motor and the muffler is just that a muffler... with the muffler delete it will give you a nice deep tone but not real loud! Id say its a nice addition if you dont want to spend the money for a new exhaust..

Have a muffler shop just weld ya in a piece of pipe and eliminate both Muff and Resonator... Or get a 4" Turbo Back system without a Muff

I had the muffler delete from RPM outlet, great sound and fit well. The third gens have a bend in them, thus if a muffler shop can not bend 4" pipe then you have to buy the delete pipe from one of these places.

I helped install one on my buddies 03. It worked like a champ.

When I first got my truck I took it to a muffler shop and had my muffler removed for a piece of straight pipe for 25 bucks. It was also welded in, not clamped.

Thanks for the info, I looked under the truck and I'm pretty sure I don't even have a resonator. Is the address RPMoutlet.com? I'll have to check that out and ask around the exhaust shops too.

How bad was it to install? Just need a sawzall, cut the muffler out and slip the pipe on?

You are going to need a torch to heat the pipe up and you are going to have to work with it. Those pipes get crimped a little when they tighten the clamps down at the factory. But it is a do able thing. I had one on my 05 before the stacks.

I have the Genos ME pipe on my 2006. It fits perfectly. I beleive it is the Mega Cabs that HAVE the resonator, the others do not. The stock muffler clamps crimp the pipes, as was mentioned, you will need either a torch to heat the pipes up to allow you to pull them apart OR you can cut some slits horizontally around the muffler ends. I used a small hand held grinder, cut several slits, pryed up on them to release the crimps.
