turn the A/C off when tgowing the mountain passes.......makes all the difference in the world

flush radiator and use the wetter water stuff

I would make sure the t-stat isn't faulty. Also, have you ever changed the coolant?

Seems like if your condenser has a lot of bent up fins, be a heavy restriction there.
