Default Black fuel filter

My filter gets covered in a black substance within a few miles of being changed. Very black and coats the entire filter. I yanked the tank just to check for any contamination but only found that the semi-clear return tube was also black on the inside of the tube. I replaced injectors 5 and 6 about 2 months ago when I popped a head gasket. The truck used to push 55lbs of boost now maybe 35.

I can back blow the filter and the fuel is black and should not be. I causes the truck to stumble before it launches. Almost like turbo lag. But there is no turbo lag with the twin set up. If I moderately accelerate at mid torque range the truck stumbles then springs to life. I am parking it and saving up for some 90HP injectors. Gotta be an injector problem.

Sorry, I had a brain fart, and was thinking about your oil and the 3rd injection event.

have you checked fuel tank for dirt? if you are running a stock filter you might want to check soon because if filter plugs it will bypass and anything in fuel will go right to fuel pump and injectors.

My fuel filters always come out black.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

Could be algae, whatever bio hazard starts growing in there sometimes.

Default Black fuel filter

Sounds like you have a bad copper washer returning fuel with soot in it to the fuel filter. It's a cheap but not so easy option to try anyway
