Default Need some help

I have a friend with an '03 6spd. He has a smarty and diablo preditor but I don't think he runs them together. Anyway the problem is he was driving and changed the smarty to stock and it surged and the throttle became delayed. He said when he put it in neutral it died but it started right up and ran fine. Can anybody shed some light on what happened. I'm more of a 12valve guy.

To change a smarty you must be stopped with the engine off to change a setting. You can change the pod while going down the road, but I seriously doubt that would cause a surge.

Also the smarty and a diablo are both programmers, can't run both at the same time...

You to zero the throttle for a couple seconds when changing POD levels or you will get some weird reactions.

So I talked to him again and he is just running a quadzilla by itself. I was driving his truck yesterday and when you push the clutch in coming to a stop it will sometimes drop to 450rpm but catch itself and go back to idle. According to the quad the rail pressure is running between 4k-12k. Is that too low?

Rail pressure sounds good. The FCA can cause this type of issue.

I got some more info. Apparently on a long trip it started to run real rough and lose power for about 10 miles and it went back to normal. It hasn't done again since. I also noticed when you change power levels the sound of the exhaust changes but that may be due to change in timing. He has a fuel pressure gauge it it runs 7psi cruising 70, 3-5psi wot on level 5 race & smoke setting, and 11psi idling.
