Default Check Engine Light

I've had everything off the truck for a while now and today on the way home I was coasting down a hill at 45mph and the check engine light came on. When I got home I hooked up the bullydog programmer to read the DTC and it said there was none? Why won't bullydog read the trouble code?

Hum... Don't know why the BD won't read them. Did you try the key dance... flip the key to run and off (without bumping starter) and the code will display where the odometer is.

If the problem is gone and you have started the truck 3 times (I think) the codes won't come up on the odometer. Whether the BD should read them I don't know.

Yep, 3... Off-on, off-on, off-on; leaving it in the on position. Get ready with pencil the codes go through kind of quick.

ok so not only is my truck a pos! But it is cursed! When it left work this morning and started to get on the interstate the engine light must put the truck in limp mode. I was having to put the pedal in the floor to keep going at speed up a tiny hill. And I mean tiny. I'm at the dealer now so we will see what happens

Sounds you might be the victim of the low boost code from not having the proper boost fooler on with a turbo. When that happens your truck will go into limp mode. The code needs to be cleared before power gets restored. Good luck.

I kept the fooler on. It was a low boost code. I tried calling bully dog 3 times since then and have been on hold each time for atleast 15 min and still haven't talked to anyone. I just want to know why it wind read that code? And each time I update it and reinstall it on the truck the programmer freezes up? I'm starting to dislike bullydog. Only thing keeping me with them is the change on the fly

I would try to find an Edge EZ instead of the Quad boost fooler. Most guys who have had this problem had the Quad boost fooler on there but for some reason it wasn't doing it's job. Maybe a buddy has an EZ you could throw on there for testing?
