this maybe a dumb question but what is this black box by my intake horn?? my 05.04.5 and 06 never had this sorry for the dumb question

this is basically a throttle that receives an electronic signal from yer pedel in the cab

The 05+ trucks moved the APPS to the inside of the firewall above the accelerator pedal. Before that it was in the poition yours is for an auto trans, or, under the driver side battery for manuals.

It is actuality connected by cable to your pedal and is also the connection of kick down linkage to your auto trans and if it goes out will trough 021 and 022 codes will cost ya $509.00 to replace the part only
