wondering what everybody is doing for the PCM on a auto to stick swap

Really I would just build the auto. Much better and faster shifts once you get it built good. The g56 ain't bad but it ain't great. If you have your heart set on a manual get an nv5600. You may be able to just get an ECM and harness from a wrecked truck.

i ended up spending a grand on getting the PCM reprogrammed from a shop here in Vegas. Well actually Brice did for me but none the less it was still a grand.

What makes the 5600 better than the g56?

Yes that case is very strong. Internals are decently stout from what I'm seeing. However parts for the 5600 seem to be going up. I'm trying to find upgraded internals for mine.

Sorry to thread jack, but it may help out others..
I have found that in California when I go to get the truck smogged I cannot have anything on the ECM besides the factory tune. So if I swapped a manual into my truck, and bought a manual ECM, would it fail because it shows a different VIN? Or if I reflashed it, would I fail because it doesn't have the factory tune?
