No power after warm up
#12
Well I got the first two lines off. the first tube I turned about a quarter turn to get to 37 ft/lbs. The second one was loose too but not as loose as the first but still a little loose. It got dark and cold so I called it quits for the night. The one in the back looks like it's gonna be all kinds of fun to get out with that lifting eye right there in the way. I'll get it though.

No power after warm up
What are cross over tubes? My truck is doing the the same. I took out the thermostate to be able to drive it.it runs fine until it reaches tempature, then it has no power. i bought the truck new and have never had any work done to it. has factory injectors. 93.000 miles. i changed out the injection pump and lift pump. none of these changed a thing, also does not get any trouble codes. any input would be great. thanks

The cross over tubes feed the fuel thru the head to the injectors. Look at the rail and follow each line to the head. The line connector threads into a fitting that is the outside portion of the cross over tube. You need to pull the line and put a TQ wrench on the bigger nut and check them.
They should not loosen up but a typical symptom of running bad afte rit warms up is those tubes being loose or possibly not sealing correctly. Its unusual but not unheard of stock systems having issues.

NO POWER AFTER WARM UP
HEY,thanks alot. that was the problem.just tq them and now everything is better. i took this truck to cummins dealer a number of times, dependable diesel twice, and one other place. everyone just wanted to keep throwing parts at it. about $4,000 later, three months and alot of bs and all it was tightening up a few fittings.
