Default transfer case question

Well, I had mine transfer case blown into 3 pieces driving down the highway the other day due to my front drive shaft being out of balance. I don't have much money so i'm just looking for a cheap one for now until i can buy a built one later. I just put injectors in my pickup so money pretty scarce right now. It is a NP271 transfer case. My pickup's an 03 dodge with an nv4500. It's a manual shift transfer case. I called everybody around where I live and I can't find a used one and I can't afford the 1500 dollars everybody's asking for a rebuilt one. Also wondering if a NP241 t-case would work out of the older 24v's would work seeing as how i can get any one of those for cheap. Unless anybody knows where I can get a 271 for cheap. It's ok if it's out of an automatic because my input shaft is still good in mine so I can swap them. Thank you for looking.

There is no such thing as a built transfer case. the 271 is going to be the best your going to get unless you buy an atlas or something.

Putting a 241 in is going to require drive shaft work which is more moolah. When I broke my 271 I ordered 2 new case halves and a bearing and seal kit. Cost me about $300. That will probably be your cheapest.
