Confused.

I have a 2004 Ram 2500. According to the VIN it has the high output engine but the tailpipe is only 3.5". According to my research, the HO tailpipe should be 4". Any thoughts?

You have the 305hp engine which was the old h.o. motor. You should be able to look at your valve cover. On the driverside there should be a lable with the hp rating.
