I'm having good luck with the Gates HD from Napa, and you can get a new water pump for around $50 w/ a lifetime warranty.

Yeah?? Spend a couple hundred now on maintenance, or wait till it gets more expensive fixing??

Coolant doesn't last/protect forever. 5 years or 100,000 miles, not until your radiator/heater core is so corroded, your spending extra to FIX those issues.

The don't fix it if it ain't broke logic.

Do what you feel that makes you comfortable, won't make you 2nd guess your decission down the road.
