Default The Day My Tranny Died

Today, on the way to work, my truck just wont do 110kph. If it gets to 110kph, its reving to 3000rpm. So after the short 20 min drive to work, I get to work, and phone the dealership I bought the truck from, they tell me 3 WEEK WAIT . Now what, so then I get on the phone with my brother who works at another dealership ( I worked there too for a bit), and he tells me the same thing, they are way understaffed like everyone in Alberta right now. So I know I have to get this truck to the dealership, give the original one a ring again and book an appointment, and now its 1 week wait. Thats a little better, I guess.

I managed to limp the truck to the shop doing 80kph for a bit, then had to do 60kph. I was almost at the shop when I had to stop for a red light, when I can go, the truck doesnt want to. I was cursing at it to got the last 2 blocks and not need to be towed, then Walla, it gets momentem. I rolled the truck into the dealership. Now I wait and see what happeneds from here.

I bought this truck used (had 79,000 kms on it) for the reason that I would have a reliable truck. I now have 92,000Kms since June. I really thought Dodge "fixed" there automatic tranny issues.

That is my rant

Ah yes, isnt it wonderful living here?

Didnt take you very long to bust it. Any performance mods that helped it along?

No Dodge autos still stink. I just drove a brand new charger that would shake like no other when convertor was suppose to lock up.

The point of buying a new truck for me is, I don't have to take care of it. It will last a couple years with minimal maintenance, not break down, and still brings good trade in with less than 50,000 miles. Sucks for the next guy, but like they say, buyer beware.

I would bet the previous owner wasn't nice to the tranny. I'm not overly nice to any of my trucks, particularly my Dodge, and the tranny still amazes me.

The truck is stock, my main use for it was pulling an 18 foot car trailer for work and to haul quads out to the bush. I have warrenty for the next while, so hopefully (fingers crossed), it will be covered.

The previous owner was a Surveyor so the truck has seen some abuse, which I figured when I bought it. But with 90,000kms on it, I was hoping for a bit more

Well, you sound like you had a better day than when I lost mine. Snapped it straight off from the engine block in a guys front yard. He then offered me a beer, I thanked him for it..... Then the 1000mi trip home....
