Default Our New Cummins

Well we finally did it. Thursday Larry and I drove out to Rochester NY and purchased a 2005 2500 SLT Quad cab long bed 4x4. Super clean! Not a scratch on the tailgate. Its all white with the black interior. Automatic...Dunrite valve body going in tomorrow. I think we did pretty good on the deal. It has 60k miles on it, but it was a retired guys camper puller. 23k plus tax and title, nothing down. Now its time to see how the otherside lives.

I think we are going to stick a Quadzilla 140 box in it for the winter. Probably go TST/Smart and all the trimings when pulling season starts.

Congrats on the new ride. Sounds like a great deal and those type of previous owners are usually pretty good to follow.

Call Stan and tell him to send you a new box instead of the Race Box.

Talked to stan on Friday. We have plenty of the 140 boxs sitting on the shelf. I'm sure in the next 8 months we will have tried every combination and every brand for ourselves. It makes it alot easier for us to sell the product when we get to play with it ourselves. Putting it on a customers truck and taking it for a ride just dont do it.

He had lots of good things to say about the X2 (i think it was) and hopefully the Adrenalin will be ready for pulling season next year. I'm pretty sure Larry was putting a Quad intake on it today with the ProDry filter. We always use Commanders on our personal trucks. I'm sure he will throw on a fuel preasure kit and boost fooler as well.

Clay, I still have my PSD, but I dont know for how long. Looking for another deal like this truck. I think tuesday we will put on the leveling kit, and Truxus STS tires. I dont know if he did the Dunrite Valve body today or not. Been home alot lately with the new baby. We are both looking forward to this project. Should keep us busy this winter.

Well, we got the new truck last thursday...today the PSD had to take it to the dealer!!!! WTF! Suspect lift pump.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Is the lift pump on this 05 a piece of crap? Do they go out often?

Ok so we got the truck back yesterday. I guess it was just a check valve on the CP3 pump. They replaced the check valve only. We put in the Quad race box and AFE intake last night. Right now we are starting on the FASS system and Dunrite valve body. When that is done we are going to install the TS converter lockup. The Smarty box is sitting here, not sure if we are going to stack it for tomorrows pulls or wait till we do the hardened shafts next week.

Anyway, we are back on track with the new truck. Already have sticks and turbo picked out. Should be a fun experience.
