Default Oil Pressure?

I just changed my oil and filter, (SAE 15W-40 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil, Fleetguard LF16035 - Stratapore oil filter), until this oil change the factory (fake gauge) reading was always around the attached picture. Now it starts out there and drops to the edge of the black line area. Doesn't go below it but it drops down to it and when I hit the throttle it comes back up to what you see on the picture. Is this normal? I just don't remeber it having this much travel before this oil change.

I don't have any advice on what may be going on with your gauge or oil pressure, but I do know that any time something went wrong or happened right after I did something or touched something, it was usually a direct result of whatever it was I did.

it should be fine if you want another reading hook up a guage on top of the filter housing
Remember the new oil will not be as thick as your old oil!

I would definitely put a gauge on it to confirm what is or is not going on.

This is the first time I have used the Amsoil in it, so the oil is different. The dealer has always done it before.

This is normal, you always have more pressure when you are giving it more fuel. Fuel (RPM's) will increase the oil pressure. You are okay....
