Default need some tranny help

i pulled up to a red light today on the hiway and noticed i had to press the brake pretty hard to stop and then the truck kept tryin to push thru the brakes while i was sittin there and when i turned the radio down i noticed the engine sounded like it had a load on it..... imagine sittin still in a truck with a standard trans but holdin the brakes and leavin the clutch half way out and thats what my truck was doin but mine is an auto. any ideas on what might be causin this??? also i noticed that the truck was shiftin at an early speed

Sounds like your TQ is partially locked up! That is the only link between a engine and tranny that can cause that! Bust out the credit card and call Goerend!

I don't think it's your trans causing that. It could be a number of things.... is the truck showing any codes ? Do you have a rail psi gauge ? Sometimes it takes a second for psi to bleed down out of the rail from 20K+ to 7K at idle. I notice you have a Smarty.... are you running a lot of timing and/or rail psi ?

the truck aint showin any codes and no i do not have a rail pressure gauge and my smarty setting are all set on mild... one of the reasons i think its my tranny is because when i come to a complete stop in drive it drags my engine down to 600rpm and when i tak off my tc is locked from the git go... anyone have any ideas on why my tc is actin like its on crack? the truck has 110k HARD miles on it and i do pull with this truck so do yall think its just worn?

There is a sprag clutch on the stator that is supposed to allow it to spin faster than the turbine until it is up to speed, in other words a stall. The clutch fails and locks so now you have full TQ multiplication and no stall.

The 06's are bad for this for some reason. Time for a new TC, get a GOOD one and save yourself a lot of hassle.
