Hey BigRigs,
I say go for it!!! You won't regret it!
I have had my 04 auto CTD for a little over a year now, and the ONLY way you would ever take it from me now is to pry it from my cold dead fingers.... And I used to be a die hard Chevy/GMC guy!
The one and only problem/ issue I have with dodge as far as trucks is the weak tranny's, dont get me wrong they will do the job they are intended for but they dont like to much for extra HP if you get bomb happy and it would be nice to have and extra gear or two on the highway.
I got a buddy of mine that used to work for Ford in St. Louis before they closed the plant and he is set on buying a Dodge for himself as soon as money permits.
My advise take it for a test drive check it out for yourself. From what I can tell in the discription and quick look, it seems to be the 04.5 configuration, Same config I have.
Now one thing I am not to sure of (and I hope some of the more knowledgeable folks will chime in on) is the "Dreaded 53" block issue I dont remember if that was an issue or not with the 04's
The other issue I have been reading about is what they call the "Death Wobble" scary to have happen to ya (I havent had the pleasure) but from what I have been reading the fix is pretty simple.
I will tell ya though these guys here are top notch for information and just about anything else for that matter.

The date of MFG on the sticker for that truck is 10/03 so I believe it's a 305/555 and not the 600 like the ad says. The engine compartment looks like it has fine dust all over everything (like flour) or maybe it's just the pics. I can't put my finger on it but I don't like the ad and I don't like the truck. I would visit that truck in person to go over it with a fine tooth comb if I were you. Carfax won't do a thing for you unless it was reported properly and most aren't. Also, I would like to see them send you a pic of the data plate that's on the driver's side valve cover of the engine. You could also find out where it was registered and then the original dealer and ask them questions about that truck. I hate to be a skeptic but it doesn't have the original tires on it and those Yoks look to be worn pretty bad to me. So if I do the math, the original Michelins should have gone at least 30K and then the Yoks at least 20K but with only 30K on the truck it has two sets of tires already. It doesn't really add up although there could be a great explanation like a blemished tire from the factory, etc.

Alright...Sorry for getting back so long after...and thanks to all who have read and advised....but the dealer this truck was at was very shady and smelled a bit like scam!...I went to see the truck the tuesday after the first post and the general manager said..."oh yeh, that truck was a sure thing of beauty"...and that he had two guys in a bidding war that bought it....I think thats Bulls@#& and a dealer should not allow for bidding and or admit it to boot...so I feel it was good that I didn't even see the truck.....keepn' on looking, there's plenty more I'm sure...........thanks all again!
