ok every once in a while while i'm backing up my truck it will start to honk and the hazards come on. but when i put my foot back on the brake it stops. any idea what this could be?? it generly happens when i'm close to something is there a backup sensor that tells me when i'm close to something??

 

Is your driver door open when you it happens?

 

^^^ what he said. IIRC, door open and/or seatbelt undone this will happen.

 

It is the driver door alarm with reverse. I am glad that I have a manual, mine does not make any noise when I back up.

That's all it is then, scared the $%&# out of me the first time it happened, thought the truck was gonna self-destruct
