Default Fuel milage in the dumps!

OK so I religously watch my milage and get on average 20 to 24 mpg. In the last week I'm getting 12mpg??? My Scan guage says all is well still the same MPG and my overhead is still Lying well at 28mpg. But my hand calculation is at 12?! I did two tanks to see if I did something wrong but it's right on. I checked my oil to see if I had a leaking injector NOPE!
I looked for leaks under the truck NOPE! Nothing out of the ordinary EXCEPT....... I have noticed on startup when I pull out of the driveway There is a cloud of whitish smoke that envelopes my truck?? Now it dark outside and the headlights may be exagerating it but that's all I can find wrong! When I get on the freeway my exhuast is clear. So unless someone is stealing diesel from my truck in the middle of the night I am clueless! Oh that's not possible long driveway spotlights motion activated and sercurity cameras so I really have no clue!

I will lose 10 MPG here & there with both of my trucks and I have concluded that it is bad batches of fuel... I have no reason to think otherwise

alot of people run 2 stroke oil. I don't because it kinda scares me..(don't know why)....I just pay a little more for the diesel additive.

What differences have you noticed when adding the oil.

If your getting white smoke on a cold start, along with long crank times to start, your looking at a bad injector.

No long cranks starts great and the smoke is not always! The two stroke is just for lubrication since this Ultra low sulfer crap doesn't lube very well. Glad i got the last year reg diesel could be used! Mexico here I come! But the injector might be an issue! I'm gonna run a few tests to see what the cylinder percentages are. Also I get between 24 and 28 "on highway driving only" so i guess that two stroke does something!

I've had it happen to me as well, and it was bad fuel. Get some Power Service and FPPF into the tank now, and on the next couple of fill-ups to help clean it out.
