my truck has 120,000 miles now and i constantly hear a ticking noise it had a noise similiar to this when i bought it at 102kmiles. i figured it was the front u-joints ignored it for the time being and did some performance upgrades like a predator programmer i replaced the u-joints and now i hear a ticking noise like the one before but now it only appears when i let go of the throttle? i have done some reading and found that sometimes the cp3 can make this noise or is it a timing click from the programmer? I dont really mind the noise that much i just want to make sure its nothing damaging

Sounds like a rock stuck in your tire!

Ok Couldn't resist! Is it louder when it's cold?

my truck does the exact same thing, ive always thought it was programmer related cause it started around the time i put the predator on it(gone now)... but never really found out for sure.

i dont know about yours but mine is only really noticable when the truck is warm

hot cummins-
my valves?! like touching the piston or some sort of slop in the rockers and pushrods? does this usually happen to common rails or is this a rare case, and how can i fix it? is there goin to be any permanent damage?
