Default Cummins strange idle

I have a 03 ram 3500. It now sometimes stalls right after starting it. It sometimes will have a strange clatter or miss during idle. Sometimes when I let out the clutch it will bog down then accelerate all on it's own. Please help!!!

wow.
Your "Sometimes" reference indicates an intermittent problem. Just to make sure we are all clear, it doesn't ALWAYS do this??

More info about your truck may be needed to diagnose...

Could be more than one problem here..

Any programmers on it?

How does it act after it warms up?

How many miles on the motor, and what all has been replaced?

The clatter/ missing thing is intermitant but becoming more regular. No programmer on it. The truck has a K&N type filter and 4" duals. there is 230000kms on the truck.

The previous owner had a programmer on it but that was 40000kms ago. the truck started running like this about 5000kms ago.

Please Help!!!!!

Any check engine lights?

Try pulling out the engine position sensors and seeing if they have any debris on them.

It was changed about 1500kms ago. The problem started before that.

Just ordered a FCA off the internet. Those things cost $330. from Chrysler in Canada. I got one for $110.
