What kinda axels/gear are in my truck?
Hey guys i'm new here and a question. My truck is listed in my sig.
My problem is my truck has a 4inch lift and 35's on it and 3.73 gear ratio. This is causing my egt's to get hotter that I prefer when I'm towing. This is with my Quadzilla on 1(stock). In 6th gear at 60mph a small uphill pull will yeild temps over 1300 easily so I have to down shift. I'm thinking of going to 4.10 ratio to combat this. Do ya'll think this will help??? If so what kinda of axels are in this truck and where do I find ring and pinions for it???
Also as a side note, does anybody make an affordable lock/unlock hub kit for the front???
Thanks in advance!!

Your rear axle is an AAM 11.5 and the front is the AAM 9.25. Give Randy's Ring and Pinion a try. Randy's Ring & Pinion. The Differential Experts. Auto Parts & Services.
4.10 gears may help and I see you have already straight piped your rig as well. The problem is you are using too much fuel versus the air that you have available. This is what is causing your excessive EGT problem. An aftermarket turbo or a larger (more effecient intercooler will also help. Your sig says you straight piped it but, did you also increase the dia of the exhaust? This may also help you. Also a cheap idea would be to try a boost fooler and maybe even an Arc Flow type intake manifold. Other than that maybe a different exhaust manifold may also help. Lifted trucks with larger tires while trying to tow loads often don't mix. Perhaps a different set of tires (stock sized) while towing could also help.

A free flowing filter and a couple holes in the stock air box will do more good than any intake out there. The stock turo\CAC\intake will do all you need until you push it over 500 HP.
With the gear ratio of 3.73 and the NV5600 OD ratio you have more than enough power and leeway to tow 25k with no issues. What you need is a programmer that will allow you to tune the power levels and something to keep the boost up.
The 1300 degrees is not a porblem on your truck, you can run that all day with no issues by Cummins testing. Whne you start topping 1500-1600 on grades then you need to start worrying.
What are you running for boost numbers when you see these EGT's? How much weight are you towing? On 33's with an auto I can tow well over 20k gross pretty much any grade at speed and never break 1200 degrees. Thats pretty close to your final ration. Makes me think something else is not working correctly.
