Default tranny going out ????

hey guys so today was i drove to a job site and it felt like 2nd wasnt kicking in it was taking longer and longer to kick in but i accelarated and it would kick in . later in the day i started my truck and took off again but my tranny didnt shift off 1st gear. i pulled over droped it into first gear then shifted to secound but still nothing. then the trans temp light came on i drove it like that for about 3 minutes then the light went off and then a minute later it shifted into 2nd and so on. the truck worked fine after shifted normal. what do you guys think it can be im gonna put a scanner first thing in the morning to see if i see any codes

Mine did this same thing DONT DRIVE IT ANY MORE!!

Get the pan off ASAP and replace the gov pressure sensor and the tranducer(about $300) at the dealer if I remember right. Then have the whole tranny flushed and put quality ATF+4 in it. Also, open the hood and check the APPS sensor(black box on the engine box with a plastic cover) and make sure that all of the cables are hooked up. If you tranny line is broken you had NO line pressure and you can bet that your tranny is toast after that.
Check the 2nd gear band and the drums if you have that ability. If not flush it, change the sensors, and see how she goes.

Hopefully it is just the sensors being plugged up!

ps... there more than likely won't be a code pulling up, at least mine didn't, but turn the key 3 times within 5 seconds and check!

hey Buz sounds like you have crap in the trans get it flushed and check the pan! No parts to replace just hope the flush unsticks the actuator! You may have to have it taken apart to be cleaned.
