Default Falling on its face at WOT

I know it has to be a fuel issue now, but on level 6 at WOT about 5 seconds into it the truck just boggs down. Turned off all safety on the edge and the problem still happens. The load % hits 100 and it is almost as like the truck defuels itself. Time for an airdog, CP3, or what?

Thanks, Austin

Sounds like your running out of fuel. Air Dog FTW

Yep, then have the fuel pressure on the high side tested. Chances are you damaged the CP3.

Thats just great, but it is what I expected. Is there a modded cp3 I should look at? The cp3 I am still gathering information about.

The lift pump was replaced about 30k miles ago so I would hate to have to buy an airdog already. Plus I am thinking that the cp3 was replaced after I bought the truck(old owner never replaced the fuel filter often and had to replace quite a few parts, $2000 worth)

before you go spending all kinds of money on luft pumps or cp3's you should test to see if that is your problem. it could be the fprv popping or maybe it is the cp3. using a gauge to measure the rail pressure and fuel supply pressure to the cp3 will help you make the right desicsion for the next upgrade

Unfortunatly, I am at college and my well trusted mechanic is a couple hundred miles away. Hopefully sometime this week I will be able to go to NAPA and ask who the trusted diesel mechanic is for the area. I'm putting my bet on a CP3, but we will find out soon enough!

Thanks, Austin

Was able to go to the shop today, everything on the fuel checked out fine! went into the Edge and found out that the alert EGT is different from the Max EGT and I havent been able to test it a whole lot but that seemed to fix my problem! The truck was actually defueling itself because of my unknowing "two" alert systems the edge has.

NEW PROBLEM

On my way back I stopped and got something to eat. After I came back out I started it up and it sounds like you can hear a "turbo wobble" through the stacks. It is a loss of power and shakes the truck when you come to a stop. At idle in drive the load % is 28, when it is normally at 15%. When I take off from a light there is more smoke than normal coming out of the stacks at normal throttle percent. It is the oddest sound and this is not the first time it has happened. sounds like the turbo, but the boost PSI is normal. Could be the valves? I'm not sure why it just started happening again!

Let me know what you think!

Remove the Edge completely and see what happens.

I drove it around for a little while longer and a code finally popped up

Crankshaft position sensor. Got the code cleared and now it seems to running better, but not great. Im going to call cummins tomorrow and hopefully that part isnt too much!
