Remove the Edge and see what happens.

If you follow the wires that go over the A/C line on the passenger side of the motor look for grounding issues. This wire will short 5 volts to the cam sensor causing the 483 code as well as the 2509. Why I have no idea but it does. Pretty common for the 03-04 trucks. Just something to try first.

Also, you may want to check your batteries or at least clean the posts. This can sometimes cause the 2509 too. I just remembered that. Some trucks also had problems with injector wires shorting right where they go under the valve cover. Might check that while you're poking around.

The last thing it could be is an injector. I would check your oil level to see if you are getting any diesel in the crankcase. Good luck.

Here is the P2509 code definition again. In case someone else has the same issue.

POOR CONNECTIONS AT THE BATTERIES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE
OPEN FUSED B+ TO ECM
OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
BATTERY + SHORTED TO OTHER CIRCUITS
RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED
BATTERY + SHORTED TO GROUND
INTERMITTENT CONDITION

if it does it on level 0 then remove the whole thing and then try it. you have to make sure it isnt the box or otherwise you will waste a bunch of time looking for other things.

Yep, GRI is right, the idea being it's not the firmware/hardware in the Edge but more the harness and connectors, pins and sockets. It must removed from the vehicle.
