I'm gonna say it's probably gonna be pretty close. The manuals take less power to turn but their overdrives are geared lower than the automatic's overdrive is.

I got a 6 speed 05 and i get 17-19 highway pulling i get 13-15. I have been using my dads 06 auto and been getting 10-12 pulling and 14-16 not pulling. They say a manual will get better mileage than an automatic.

My 06 Dodge quad cab long bed 4x4 auto, would get 20-21 unloaded doing 70 when I traded it off at 36,000 miles. I think there are too many variables to worry about besides what transmission it has.

Empty I can get 20.5 mpg at 55-60 MPH but at 70-72 MPH its down to 18.5+ mpg. Oh all of my fuel mileage numbers are hand calculated not from the overhead computer read out that can be off by 2-10 mpg.

My 2005 Dodge 2500 2wd, auto, 3.73 geared gets 18.5 city/highway combined and 14 pulling a 5500# travel trailer. (hand calculated, not the trip computer)

I just got back from a 630 mile round trip up and down through the Texas Hill Country ... running with cruise control at 62, got 19.2mpg. (Hand calculated with 25% bio-diesel) ('07 5.9 auto Quad cab, 4x4)

Does running the AC make any or much difference?

it might be a small difference. nothing huge. I don't care enough about getting that last nth of a mpg to turn my AC off so I don't know for sure.
