what is a smoke switch and where do i find them?

From what i have heard the smoke switch isn't really good for the common rail.

i agree with rattler. i was dumb and did it. should have listen to everyone who told me not to do it. so it fried my map sensor when i did it. call a dealership and price a map sensor and see if its worth it to take the chance of frying it to get some useless smoke.
yours maybe hook up different but you still take the chance of messing something up.

how long did it take to fry your map sensor outlaw? i tried one on my 01 pickup, it didnt do much of anything, i never heard it was bad for it though, i undid it the same day. do you think it could have dne any damage, nothing has acted funny at all.

it must have done mine that day or within the next 3.. you will know if it did i was gettin map sensor codes i think it was p0237. then i cleaned the map the code stopped but i would get a surge at cruising speeds. some people do it and dont have a problem. i did and to me isnt worth the risk. if i could do over wouldnt do it
