Default "Door's Open" horn warning

Sorry if already discussed, but couldn't find on a search. How do you (can you) disable this annoying feature? I'm one of those who can have the door open to jump out before I get er put in park. I also tend to leave the door cracked open when I'm backing up to a trailer. This horn makes these tasks a pain.
Is there a simle fix.
thanks,
Heath

There is no way to disable it, but I have heard of some guys pushing in the parking brake just enough so that the light comes on, on the dash and it keeps the horn from going off.

Yeah, it wasnt on my '03 until i took it in to the shop for service last year. The next time i backed up to a trailer, HONK . I asked them to take it off, but they refused, said they couldnt legally, its because people were getting out with their trucks in reverse and running themselves over. Thinning the weak in the gene pool as far as im concerned

Try it with train horns!!!!! I had no idea the truck did that and almost blew my eardrums the first time I backed up to my trailer with the door open!

I believe jumping the seat belt warning will also disable the door / reverse honk

I got lucky. Took it to the dealer for some service and knew about the TSB. Asked the service tech if they could do the work and not install the backup TSB. He said that they were supposed to install it because it's a safety TSB. I asked him if they could 'forget' to do it. Got my truck back and they hadn't done it. The change came because if you put the selector in park but don't notice the 'P' lit on the dash it's not really in park and can roll. Stupid fix if you ask me. I had a '96 Jeep that did the same thing. Sounds like it was manufacturer defect that they decided to fix with a horn blowing. Glad that they didn't do mine.
