If you held down the trip and turned the truck on it should show you the hours on the motor.
(good way to tell how the truck was used...low miles & high hours means lots of idle time....high miles & low hours means lots of highway time)
If you turned the key 3 times and there was a CEL code it would give you the code.

ok, so i own two scanners, one snap-on solis, and one matco determinator system, scanned it with both and no trouble codes found. when the key is cycled 3x it just says "done", but when i hold the odometer button down with the key off then turn the key on, the gauges sweep and these codes show up: C-code, 67 26, A4 76, A7 55, AA 55. Then it goes to miles and back to normal.

I remember when you joined here, didn't you buy your truck used? From the looks of the codes I'd say the truck was wrecked in the front. If you did buy it used and don't know if it was ever wrecked look on the lips on top of the fenders (the lip normally covered by the hood). You should see "Mopar" stamped near the center of that flange. If you don't then you have aftermarket fenders, showing signs of a collision.
If you know it hasn't been wrecked just disregard all of this!

I have a code question. I've gotten the code P 0111.....I installed a new air filter, wiped the sensor in the air intake tube and kept on truckin. After a few shutdown/restarts the engine light went out. Is this a B.S. code or is it something I need to attend to? Any input would be appreciated.

I did buy the truck used and im not sure if has ever been wrecked but ill check and see if it has the mopar stamp
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
mopar is stamp on both fenders PO111 is intake air tempature sensor 1 circuit it was just dirty thats why the light came on
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
mine also threw that code when the air filter was restricted
