Manual shifting question
I have a question to see if you might know, when i shift my 04.5, i have to slowly let the clutch out (I mean SLOOOOOW) otherwise it seems like there is a bang or a slight jerk... it feels like there is play in the u joints and when i shift it takes up the slack real fast and then kind of makes it jerk... but the guy i bought it from just replaced all the u joints and i even got underneath and all of them are tight? I couldnt find a TSB for that problem, but maybe someone else has had that problem.. or is it just the way they are? My last truck which was a chevy gas manual did it, but i just thought it was because it was ancient.. Thanks guys

Well think of it this way. Do you push on the Accel. pedal to bring your engine rpms close to where they are GOING to be after you let the clutch out? If not that could be your problem. When you push in your clutch your engine rpms will drop to idle pretty darn fast. Then when you let the clutch out you'll feel a jerk because your going faster than than the engine's speed and it has to rapidly accelerate the engine to match your raod speed in that gear.

I love it too, just taking a little time to get used to it..
How are the clutches on them?? I was talking to a couple of my friends that have pulling trucks and said something about clutches and they asked where my reverse was and i told them all the way to the right and up, and they said that it has a good clutch in it and i shouldnt have any problems with it unless i try adding a bunch of HP.. i just got an edge juice on the way and AFE intake, that is really all i want to do to it.. Were they right or just filling my head full of it??

well that has nothing to do with the clutch. They are talking different trannies entirely. the nv5600 has the reverse to the right and up. The G56 is to the left and down. Both are pretty good trannies. As long as your not trying to do third gear launches your stock clutch should last you just fine.

So would i beable to run the juice on level 5 and take it easy or would it start to slip..

If i shift into gear a little sooner as apposed to letting the rpms drop below 1k (idle) it doesnt do it..
But i will jack the rear end up and check it out.. I would be PI$$$$$ED if the rear end was going out...
Oh another question.. Dont most of these trucks come with limited slip? The other night it was raining a bit, and i couldnt get it to drift at all.. i would just get a one wheel peel... and once just one tire started spinning i would let out, so maybe i didnt give it enough time... Any thoughts?
