What Should I Look For In A Truck?
OK I'm not compleatly new to diesels I've got a 97 fuel plate slid foward and afc tweaked with a straight pipe. But I'm lookin for an 03-06 CR to bomb for my new wife. I haven't been around CR's at all.. Aside from the general test drive and checking fluids for abnormality. Is there anything that I should look for to avoid getting someone else's lemon?
as far as I know they are as good as your p pump as far as reliability. check under truck for odd leaks of oil. make sure it has not been tortured already! they are easy to mod when you get it
I would stay away from the early 2003 they were 250 HP with 47RE trans (your better off with a second gen. if you get this one) the later 305 HP ones get better fuel mileage then the 325 HP versions, but if your bombing it maybe fuel mileage is not a concern. Check the ball joints and front axle U joints for needing replacement as this is a common area to see issues. Pre-2005 trucks have the lift pump on the motor which has proven to fail on most. When you find one you are thinking about buying post the specifications and the price, I'm sure once everyone here knows the vintage and mileage they can provide more insight. Good luck.
cool

i was hoping to hear that... i really want to put fog lights on it, but i am kind of skeered of how hard it would be to wire it... I wonder if the trucks are already wired for it just didnt come with them....
