ok i heard that pulling the map sensor on my buddys 24v cr will help preformance and blow some smoke. true untrue? risky? ddangerous? lethay. and what exactly is it and where is it?

only downside i hear about doing that is that it can wash the cylinders.

But it does smoke more, i think it fools the computer that it is under full boost IIRC.

But i aint a cummins guy

where is it on the motor? and what exactly does wash the cylinders mean?

Anyone that tells you that's ok needs to give their head a shake. If you want smoke dump more fuel at it with injectors or a box or something. Pulling the MAP will cause the truck (a CR) to go into limp mode and send all kinds of headaches to the ECM which take some care to remove depending on the year of the truck.

It sounds like you need to do some more reading before I tell you where it is located. Once you do and you still want to pull it I'll let you know.

Not trying to be a dick - just saving you some money...

You will probably set some codes by doing this....does he have a way to clear them?


I cant figure out why everyone wants smoke. I wish mine wouldnt smoke.

Exactly, black smoke is unburnt fuel - if you haven't seen the price lately...

Thats why I like the Banks 6 gun, it had 785ftlbs at the tires and no smoke.... But now I added the Smarty and that changed alil but it only smokes when I want it too.... Milage went down alil bit, but I assume thats from me rompin it testing the new found power......

If you want smoke cheap get the quadzilla boost fooler. It plugs into the MAP sensor and is only $71.

fuel prices don't bother me its not my truck to buy gas for . but what wyatt erp says makes me wanna stay way away from that. thanks guys. but i still don;t know what "washing the cylinders" means
