Air Intake Heater Issues... Please Help
Hello,
I'm new here and this is my first post so please bear with me. I have a 2006 Dodge 2500 Cummins. Recently the check engine light is coming on saying there's a problem with the air intake heater system. I've taken it to a mechanic and told he's never seen it before but the driver that's controlling the system is bad. If you start the truck the heater grid works fine. Once you stop if you let it sit for 30 min or more it will usually work fine the next start. However, if you turn the truck off say to get fuel and then try to start it again in less than approx 30 min the signal doesn't go through to the heater grid and the ECM throws a check engine light and says the air intake heater system is the source. I was told I would have to replace the entire ECM. I would like to just delete the heater grid system all together and hopefully by pass any issues with the ECM throwing the check engine code. I'm at a loss as to if that's even possible or how to do it. PLEASE HELP.

If you live in a state where there's no visual smog inspection,I would advise you to just take the grid heater out and put a delete piece in its place, or just disconnect the heater grid and leave it there. I wouldn't worry about the check engine light if the code it throws is for the grid heater. I rather disconnect have it disconnected.
