Default Metal shavings in lift pump

Noticed my lift pump pressure was slowly decreasing even after replacing my filter. Figured my L.P. was on its way out. Dropped the tank to install the FASS and I find this. Small metal shavings and what looks like a graphite material. The inside of the tank was "clean" nothing major floating around. I rinsed the tank out several times with clean diesel and installed the FASS with a sump got tired last night so I'm finishing this morning. My question is how screwed am I? My fuel pressure gauge usually ran around 10, 9-8 when I needed a new filter. In the last week it got to around 7 running down the road. Also since im solving the lack of fuel issue now with the FASS will the damage stop or at least slow down? Thanks for any input, I love this truck but damn I'm getting tired of working on it. 06, 3500 with 137k on it.
