Default G56 Question

I have a 06 3500 with a G56. I replaced the clutch about a year ago and have only put about 10,000 miles on the clutch. The issue I am having is I pulled the trans to preb for an engine rebuild and noticed the pilot bearing was toasted and all but gone. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Crank end play is .009 but the input shaft moves alot to the point that when I broke the last clutch I now have a groove in the input shaft. Thanks for any input of helping me solve this issue.

Just did my clutch in Jan. The kit I got they sent me a pilot bearing for a NV5600. It would fit but really tight. Might have got you with the same thing.
