Default Steering issues

I've got a question (sorry if I posted in the wrong forum I'm a Newby here). While traveling in a strate path my steering wheel is not strate. It is more annoying than anything. I'm wanting to know if I can simply disconnect my steering shaft from my steering box and align the steering wheel in the correct spot without hurting the clock spring? Thank you!

You don't need to do that. Go under the truck where the linkage connects to the steering box there is an adjustment point for the steering wheel. An alignment shop will do it for free or cheap.
