Default smarty jr safe for stock 48re tranny

I'm looking into getting a smarty jr but i have a stock 48 re tranny. Would it be safe for it as long as i dont womp on it very often or just lighty? and how much smoke does a smarty jr put out?

Get this and you should be good. It increases the line pressure and gets rid of the shuttle shift.

Would a bully dog be better for the tranny? I have a superchips on it right now.

You can smoke a tranny on stock tune with that said run it control your foot till you can upgrade the tranny! It's a good all around improvement!

I do plan on upgrading the tranny, but would like to know what will run well with the truck and the tranny for the time being.

It took about 2 years/20k miles to fry my 48RE with a Smarty Jr., if that's what you mean.

That's with the SK48RE shift kit installed, as well.

YMMMV

I've got 117k on it but I put a new flywheel and torque converter in but just stock.
