Question Torque Converter Cooler

Please help. I'm searching for a torque converter cooler for a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9L automatic transmission. I cannot afford to purchase one from the dealership.

Tranny cooler is mounted up by the radiator. There is a heater cooler on the engine drivers side. Which do you need? Check Ebay for either one go aftermarket on the cooler "Bigger"

Sorry to hijack, but is that heater cooler absolutely necessary? Will the truck operate normally with out it?

The TQ converter cooler is frequently referred to as the heat exchanger on the block. Yes, it can be deleted and a fan activated cooler added under the bed. It will take longer for the trans to warm up so a chyange in driving style may be needed.

Check with TC Diesel, I think he has a cheaper alternative than the dealer heat exchanger.

Yeah that goes in the block drivers side. But you can bypass it. There is a aftermarket thermostat available now set at 160 that you can put inline to keep the tranny at temp! Driving in cold weather is the only time that is needed and it gets the temps up faster. Running cold ATF is bad for the tranny!

I am very interested. Where do I get this item? Not towing, my trans temp is just barely above 140*. WHen I tow my 9800 lb travel trailer, its right at 170*, in the hot summer. Since its been so darned cold here in Texas my trans temp takes quite a bit of time to warm up.

Ok just ordering If this is a complete replacement where it still hooks up to the coolant lines as well? If so what fittings should I order?
