Verify this is what your wiring currently looks like. Verify Wiring Colors match and all sensor wire colors match. If so check all power and ground pins for appropriate voltages. Under 100mV on grounds circuits & .5V Drop or Battery Voltage =/-.5V
All test should be performed with connectors plugged in. Testing should be done KOEO and KOER (starting in this case). Once you get these numbers we'll be able to better advise you of which direction to go!

well the first thing we are going to do is get the correct wiring harness, it has to be done no matter what. so we will try that and go from there, but for now I will take a look athe the info you gave me. thanks a lot.

Agreed for the transmission to shift you'll have to have the auto harness & ecm. But if you have a matching year harness, pcm and ecm and the ecm is programmed correctly (skim/ Vin) the engine should run. There were some color changes but nothing major. You will have to use a auto ecm and harness or a manual valve body for the auto trans. Did both trucks have the gray skim keys?
