Alright so I picked up a cleaned and bored commonrail block for a motor buildup I'm working on and went to get a set of bearings for it and couldn't find the 8 digit casting number that cummins parts is asking for. The only numbers I can find are

81-04-024
11H04

What year is my block? Any other way to find that 8 digit number to order parts with just the block?

Of course the guy who I bought the block from now isn't answering his phone

 

Nope doesn't matter all the same. Matters what year you want to build. 04 or earlier used different injectors, pistons and harness on head than 04.5 -07 which are the same.

 

It's an early 04.

The issue I'm currently having is a bought a Hamilton cam and with the cam bushing that I got from cummins for an early 04 it doesn't fit

Got it figured out. The engine serial number is stamped on the flat surface above the oil cooler
