Default swapping nv4500 into 2004

i know it can be done because 03's and 04's came with nv4500's. ive searched and searched for information. i have a 99 24v parts truck with a 4500 in it. i want to know if i can use the flywheel off the 24v or if i need to buy one for a common rail. any other info i might need would be greatly apreciated.

The one off the 24v should be fine. make sure you have it resurfaced. Some early 3rd gen trucks came with a dual mass flywheel. If your 04 has one, the 24v flywheel may not work. That is, I dont know if the cranks are different. I parted an 03 with the 5spd and it was the same as the 24v. So maybe the bellhousing would be the difference with a dual mass??
