Default 06 Cummins engine budget build

I Haven't been on here in a while since I sold my 12v, but im back in the shop and I wanted another project. I have decided I want to build a CR Cummins to expand my Cummins knowledge I completely built the motor I had in my 12 v(612 HP at the last dyno before I sold it) and always gave my friends hell for running common rails I didn't trust computers. Now I want to build one, I have located a block and head for 500 out.of an 06 that was totaled. Some im really needing some advice on different things to do im building it on a budget. Im going to do as much as possible myself im basically shooting for a high horse powered daily driver kind of a sleeper. Any and all advice is welcomed, I have lots of mechanical knowledge and almost unlimited access to a machine shop. So bring on the suggestions.!!!

Like with your 12vavle, start off with the simple stuff. Air filter, exhaust, gauges, then go from there.

Money is the limit! Rebuild kit on E-bay is 1200. Do you have the ECM? Wiring harness?
Figure if you do all the work to have a turn key engine will cost about 3000. Then what will you put it in? Then deal with drive train. Another 5 grand. You can pick up a blown up truck for cheap under 10 grand just have to find it! IMO just buy a running truck put the engine on the shelf as a spare AFTER you go through it!

yes I have everything out of the truck that was wrecked. even the airbox. I figured as much about starting simple but thank you for reminding me I do have a habit of overthinking things. im going to be building it in my shop and I have a buddy who owns a machine shop and told me I can pretty much us it whenever I want(after hours of course). im going to do a complete tear down and build from the ground up. im going to raid junkyards, hit part swaps and anything else I can do to get out cheaper, im really only build on a budget to see how crazy I can go, I would love to be able to pull up next to some guy who dropped 10 or 15 grand in his truck and run off and leave him with half that or less. im not to concerned about the budget part I can find a a way to get it cheaper. I know about some stuff to do to them but really looking for ideas that are out there, experimental things, turbo info/combos, ideas on piston choices, rather or not to bore it out idk I never did it to the 12v but idk if it would make a diference in the 24v. info on head work port/polish, all I did to the 12v was head studs. big deal is Pump info I know very very little about the cp3 pumps should I go dual or just a larger one? give me some creativity I know for a fact that there is a wealth of knowledge on the forum I read yalls threads all the time! thank yall for what I got so far!
